Ai Capone

Our legs were relaxed after a whole day of walking around and exploring the city.

And we were looking forward to a proper dinner.

The location of our hotel was prime – it only took us a few minutes to walk to the riverside/night market area.

There was so much to choose from – and while initially we were hoping to score some local food, it was almost 9 PM and many shophouses were closing.

But then we passed by Ai Capone, a cozy-looking bistro. Amused by the name, we thought, why not?

Beer Lao | 21.000 Kip

Ai Capone makes amazing bread! It was just perfect – perfect in texture, seasoning, and temperature. Absolutely loved the breads!
Beef in Laos is such a bargain – even cheaper than water!

Mushroom Soup | 43.000 Kip

Ai Capone

Calzone Tradizionale | 78.000 Kip

Again, amazing bread…Always love a good calzone. And this one was definitely one of the best I’ve had. I didn’t even mind eating the edges (no filling) because the bread was just that good!

Gnocchi Pesto | 78.000 Kip

I’m always a fan of pesto. And of course we all know how devoted I am to pasta. Needless to say, this gnocchi pleased my palate.

Between the two of us, we spent a total of 237.000 Kip (USD30), which was not bad. Would I recommend Ai Capone? Yes. You must must have their breads!
