Dill Gourmet Cafe replaced long-time tenant Secret Recipe at Plaza Indonesia. I’m always cautious about sandwich places in Jakarta because with the exception of perhaps one or two, I haven’t quite been met with a simply good and goodly simple sandwich. Usually, I’d land on one with tough-to-chew bread, too little stuffing (or just little as a whole) or plain blandness. Sorry for all the negativity–it’s my way of being detailed and specific.
For the size and quality, Dill Gourmet sandwiches are steeply priced. One sandwich hardly filled me up and the mini pizza was seriously mini. Seriously. The desserts were, for lack of a better descriptive, simply boring. Even though I do like the cafe decor and setting, the food won’t make me come back a second time. But for you who are wanting a quick bite such as a sandwich and don’t want to think too much, however, I do recommend Starbucks’.
You’re probably thinking Starbucks? What’s so special about that? Nothing too special but their sandwiches are good and no doubt much more filling and worth it!
