As I covered in Wedding Weekend: Decor & Details, while the wedding was veiled in white, we didn’t want a plain black and white stationery. We quite fancied the mix of navy and blush, which as you already know, goes with our wedding car, R’s tux, my hand bouquet, and our bridesmaid and groomsmen ensemble. And as with everything else, since we were very specific about what we wanted, I decided to design and produce all our wedding stationery and souvenir, with much help and input from R.
What I love about the invitation was the complete embossing of all the letters, inside and out. The addition of a hint of gold to the soft watercolor background and floral blue added a subtle touch of luxury.
Our gift to our guests was a little box shaped like a book containing a personalized Moleskine pocket journal, six blank “hello” cards and matching envelopes, and two pencils, all nicely bound with a navy suede tie. We wanted our guests to take home something they could use on special occasions, travels, and everyday. These trinkets remind us to stay in touch with friends and family and to always keep them close. We’d hoped they’d do the same for our guests.
My three bridesmaids meant so much to the wedding. It wouldn’t be half as fun or chaotic without them. I really wanted them to have something that could be a part of them even after the wedding day. Something cozy and comfortable, because that’s what our friendship is like. I personalized these pink “boyfriend” shirts by embossing their initials on the fabric. I’m thrilled to know that at least one of them has re-worn the shirt post the wedding. And as for the cards, they were just a formality since these three mademoiselles already knew they’d be the ones standing by my side on my wedding day.
